Fudgy Avocado Brownies (Recipe)



I probably know what you're thinking. "Avocado? Brownies? No, no, no. Why in the world would I put anything green in my brownies? You're disgusting. Delete your blog
And okay, fair. Maybe I will. 
But, hear me out. These brownies are pretty darn tasty. And, to be fair, avocados are technically a fruit. So there. I win. 
And I mean, what other pan of brownies can you say are full of potassium, fiber, and are rich with over a dozen vitamins and minerals? These brownies are the poster child of the phrase "Delicious and Nutritious". (That being said, if you absolutely hate the taste of avocados, this probably isn't the recipe for you.)
  
But, why avocados? They have a pretty mild flavor, and a creamy texture that makes great for desserts. Also, being that avocados have a reputation for getting ripe over the course of like, 5 minutes, they can be pretty easy to waste. So this recipe is great for when you have way too many ripe avocados on hand that need to be eaten like, today. I've found myself making these mainly in those dire situations. Plus this recipe is just super easy, okay!
So, if you're feeling brave enough, here's how to make them.

1. Stir together almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
2. Mash avocados until they're no longer lumpy. Then add avocado, eggs, vanilla, milk, and sweetener (and the chocolate chips/nuts if ya feeling it) to flour mix and bring together.
3. Add mixture to 8x8 greased pan (or use parchment paper). Bake at 350 ° F for 10-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. I personally like my brownies a little ooey-gooey, so I tend to take them out sooner!
4. Let brownies sit on a cooling rack for 15 minutes. (Or don't. It's your burnt tongue, not mine).
5. Eat, enjoy, then come back here and apologize to me for thinking my brownies were gross. It's okay. I forgive you.
